What is our philosophy at The MAX?

Our MAX Team focuses on a family centered approach.

Building relationships and trust is a priority when it comes to pediatric therapy.

Communication with the child, the family and also with our interdisciplinary team.

We want to bring PT, OT and SLP under one roof.

Working together in our evidence based practice to achieve greater results and meet your child's goals.

Each child deserves a chance to reach their maximum potential together.

We practice with the philosophy of being aware of a diagnosis yet our primary focus is to identify current strengths and weaknesses and then formulate a plan to reach functional mobility and developmental gross motor goals.

Setting your child up for success begins with meeting them where they are at and never capping off their potential.

What can I expect from my MAX Pediatric PT?

We want to listen and learn about your child's story during the initial evaluation.

This comprehensive approach helps us identify what the concerns are and how we can begin addressing them.

Our assessments  look at  movement as it relates to flexibility, strength, posture, gait, sensory processing, balance, coordination and skill. If appropriate,  assessments of motor development using standardized testing for age equivalents will be used. Once the problems are identified, goals are discussed together.

We also know the importance of  providing guidance for the collaboration of other needs. Including finding resources to help you connect with other professionals and vendors. These needs might include  recommending and training in orthotics, prosthetics, standers, gait trainers, wheelchairs  seating systems as well as adaptive technology.

We are here for you and your child providing family support with coordination of services, advocacy, and assistance with enhancing development. Raising kids takes a village. We want to be a part of that village.

Will my child like physical therapy?

We certainly hope so!

If you aren't having fun, what's the point?

Our multisensory specialized kid gym is set up to meet your child's goals in a play based setting. Therapeutic exercises and activities are incorporated while engaging your child in imaginative adventures.

Play is the love language of kids.

We meet them at their level. then encourage them to reach for that next step as we create an atmosphere that empowers them to soar.

If your tween or teen needs our assistance, we still incorporate play, mainly because we love to play, but will adapt and use age appropriate games and techniques in our adult gym.

Our MAX Team is dedicated as we work

along side you and your child to reach their

 maximum potential together.

Our Pediatric PT services are offered in person, through telehealth or in a hybrid model depending on your individual needs and situation.

What is Pediatric Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric Occupational Therapy helps children with a wide range of conditions gain independence in their daily activities.

An OT will work with you to identify struggles within your child's daily routines then develop a plan to focus on improving the fine motor skills, sensory motor skills and visual motor skills that are needed to function and socialize at home, school, play and community environments.

From acute inuiries to children with complex medical needs, we can help.

With a strong focus on home therapy program development and parent education, we support parents and families with the tools and techniques they need to help their child reach their highest level of function across environments.

What conditions can be treated with pediatric OT?

OT's work along side the team treating kids of all abilities.

Some common diagnosis might be but not limited to :

Autism related disorders

Brachial plexus injuries

Cardiac conditions

Cerebral palsy

Neuro-progressive disorders

Orthopedic and hand surgery

Pain management

Post-chemotherapy care

Post-surgical patients, include post-neurosurgery

Seizure disorders

Spina bifida

Trauma injuries, including traumatic brain injury

What can I expect from my MAX Pediatric OT?

Our current model for OT is through the use of telehealth and an in person model.

Once your child has received a referral for occupational therapy, we will set up a HIPPA approved telehealth session and begin communicating with you about your journey to identify your child's needs. This conversation and observation of your child will direct the occupational therapist to create a treatment plan that addresses your child’s unique needs and goals. The number and frequency of your child’s therapy sessions will depend on each individual condition.

Our highly skilled OT will work closely with the PT and SLP to complement the integrated intervention strategies.

Through telehealth and an in person.  The MAX is able to provide this difficult to find service to our rural communities. Our MAX Pediatric OT is experienced and ready to deliver quality services through this evidence based model of practice.

Will my child like Occupational Therapy?

You will be the hands in this telehealth model. The OT will guide you through the therapeutic process that relies heavily on listening to you and your child then formulating creative ways to help you work alongside your child.

The OT telehealth session will be part consultative and part direct intervention guiding you to lead these play based activities that may include sensation, emotion, and motor skills. Packets of supplies may be loaned to you and delivered to your home to assist with sessions if needed.

As your child builds their confidence and skills through your relationship-based interactions, progress is to be expected. If not, interventions are changed and new strategies are put into place.

Our OT will be available to coach you and guide you in engaging with your child in ways that will make a difference.

Maximum Potential Together.

Pediatric OT is offered as a telehealth delivery model. We will have a telehealth station in our clinic for your use to connect with the OT or you can connect with this service from the comfort of your home.

What is Pediatric Speech Therapy?

Pediatric Speech Therapy help children express themselves by using either their voice or an augmentative communication device. Your child’s sessions may include games, flashcards, and other activities that make sessions fun, while improving articulation and receptive and expressive communication.

What can I expect from my MAX Pediatric SLP?

Our MAX Pediatric Speech Therapist will provide both in person and telehealth session.

Once a referral has been received for SLP services. an assessment will be performed. During this assessment the SLP will discuss your concerns and evaluate your child. The results of the comprehensive evaluation will guide the speech therapist to make a strategic plan of interventions to work toward your family centered goals.

Through the integration of creative play therapy  music, books, sign language, imaginative play, and take-home activities, the SLP will provide a fun and effective learning atmosphere.

Our feeding sessions  address possible oral motor delays as well as sensory issues that may be creating issues. These comprehensive holistic approaches ensure your child's individual needs are met.

Will my child like Speech Therapy?

We are counting on a big YES!

Each MAX speech sessions is full of creative activities and programming. The calm environment allows your child to focus and build their confidence. Once confidence begins , progress with skills will become obvious.

Relationships are built through these individualized sessions. As your child begins feeling comfortable and starts making other developmental milestones skills, (i.e. core strength, gross motor skills, sensory processing skills)  progress  is expected to follow.

Consistent review of strategies is part of our MAX philosophy.
